Ah, Christopher, I think not.
The temptations for the son of a conservative figure to do a little rebelling must be enormous, and human nature is week.
But to say that William F. Buckley Jr would have voted for a pro-abortion, high-spending crypto-socialist because of his grace and writing ability would be to suggest WFB was a fraud and a snob.
Which he assuredly wasn't, his patrician status notwithstanding.
