Dilemma of the day

Do I believe my own lying eyes and ears?  Or do I believe Boston Globe-Democrat lib-tard columnist Joan Vennochi?

Team Obama can spend August complaining about right-wing distortion of their healthcare agenda. Or, they can figure out how to tell their truth: Revamping healthcare is not an evil socialist plot to take away American rights. It’s a patriotic movement to guarantee them.

Socialism - it's the new Patriotism.

Oh, and their truth?  That's precious, Joan.  Simply precious.

Even the AP is calling BS on The Won's claims

Behold!  The souring of HopenChange

President Barack Obama is promising some exciting coming attractions for his stimulus plan. But it turns out they're just summer reruns.

Starting off with snark.  I'm liking where this piece is going already.

As to the substance - well, what they've been doing is a total, complete and demonstrable failure.  But I suppose if they do it really fast... more...

More awesomeness

The Obama recovery just keeps rolling on...

Although consumer confidence may be increasing, it's not showing up at the cash register yet. Many retailers posted disappointing May sales on Thursday, and food and necessities remained high on shoppers' lists.

According a Goldman Sachs/ICSC tally, overall same-store sales fell 4.6 percent, worse than the 3 percent drop predicted.

Looks like there are soon to be a few more "funemployed" - looking forward to finding their inner layabout.  Splendid.

So, how much MSM-play do you think this story will get?

I'm guessing - none.

A new Gallup Poll, conducted May 7-10, finds 51% of Americans calling themselves "pro-life" on the issue of abortion and 42% "pro-choice." This is the first time a majority of U.S. adults have identified themselves as pro-life since Gallup began asking this question in 1995.

As Tom Blumer at Newsbusters said:
What a difference a radical, in your face, abortion-promoting president makes.

Spot-on, that.

Expect the MSM to dutifully ignore this 15-point swing in attitudes toward infanticideabortion.  It gets in the way of the narrative, you know.

I love a local paper cat-fight.

Ladies and gentlemen, Howard Lawrence Carr...

The Boston Globe is dying this weekend, one way or the other. It probably lingers on a while longer, on life support, a Terri Schiavo of journalism, but this comedy is ending the way it was destined to.

Read the whole thing - the multiple, interwoven layers of schadenfreude are simply delicious.

The Power of "The Deciders"

Anyone doubt the power of the MSM, even given that they are currently living (dying?) through a near death experience, to shape public opinion throughout Obamanation?  Anyone?

Well, let's just pluck these two headlines off the front page of Yahoo - both courtesy of the Disassociated Press...

New jobless claims rise more than expected to 640K

AP Poll: Americans high on Obama, direction of US

Yep, we're going to Hell in a hand-basket - and more people than not seem to be just fine with that.

Still doubt the power of the MSM to shape people's opinions and perceptions of current events?

Why bury the lead...

... when you can just spike the whole fucking story.

Baker's story attracted a lot of attention soon after the paper posted it on its Web site.  In addition to a link on Drudge, it is, according to Memeorandum, the talk of PowerLine, JustOneMinute, The Daily Dish, The Plum Line, Hot Air, Commentary, RedState, Political Punch, AmSpecBlog, and lots of other places on the Web.

In fact, it appears there is just one place you won't find Baker's story: the print edition of the New York Times.

The entire LeftMedia complex: Mother-fucking suckers of cock.

You can't go bankrupt fast enough.

Farepoorly.

H/T: Ace.

From the "I could not possibly care less about this" files

Oh look!  Shiny object!!  The Obama girls have a new dog!!!

Bo? No jest. The first family has settled on a first pet — a 6-month-old Portuguese water dog that the Obama girls are naming Bo.

And you know what is the saddest part?  That for roughly 2/3 of America, this qualifies as news.

We are so totally freaking screwed.

Let's have them practice on you, Bill Maher.

Just when you think disgusting lib-pansy fucktard Bill Maher could not possibly plumb depths deeper than those he's already plumbed, he manages to double-down on disgraceful.

Great idea, Maher. I suggest they use every orifice in your body for practice, but that's honestly too good for you.

Just think of England and it will all be over in a couple of hours, asshole.

At a minimum, they'll probably manage to keep that perty-little-mouth of yours occupied long enough to contemplate what a worthless piece of cow shit you are.

Reap... sow. Sow... reap.

Seems that some network-types are becoming increasingly irritated by the amount of national face time the would-be savior of the world is requesting.

You know what?  Too fucking bad, assholes.

You created this bastard.  You nursed him.  You protected him from any and all serious vetting of his micron-thick resume.

And now you're afraid you're going to lose a million or two because Teh One needs to have his messiah-sized ego stroked?

Eat it - now you get to kiss his ass like the rest of us have to, dipshits.

Other than that I really don't have any strong opinions on the subject.

The Boston Globe: In the Zero tank.

Yeah, I bet this story would have been given front-page play if John McCain were sitting in the White House presently...

New figures being released today show the recession helped drive down global warming emissions from Northeast power plants last year to their lowest levels in at least nine years.

Sing it with me... "Al-ways look on the briiiight si-ide of life" (whistle...)

But Pravda on the Bay was quick to point-out that not everyone is happy...

"Never waste a good crisis"

Time to play everyone's favorite game - try to think of what would be the media reaction if a Republican said...

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton told an audience Friday "never waste a good crisis," and highlighted the opportunity of rebuilding economies in a greener, less energy-intensive way.

If fact, isn't this precisely the sort of language the paranoid left-moronosphere explicitly believed was being used on a daily basis by Chimpy and Darth Cheney?  And, what, no outrage over this from The Shrew?

Color me spectacularly unsurprised.

Good to see Congress has its priorities straight.

Let's see - economy collapsing?  Check.
Unemployment going through the roof?  Check.
Pork-crammed spending bills stalling?  Check.

Sounds like a perfect time for a Capitol Hill visit from the less buff half of Brangelina.

You know, I've never in my life been more convinced that the country would be in just as capable hands if we picked our representatives at random out of the fucking phone book.

You know, it's almost like they're rooting for this guy.

Behold - the objective, unbiased AP, the ultimate in "accountability journalism" during the evil BushCo era, playing Head Cheerleader to President Zero's Captain of the Football Team.

President Barack Obama, who often says his $787 billion economic stimulus package will save or create millions of jobs, can point to at least 25 jobs saved in Ohio's capital.

Wow - 25 jobs "saved" and it's a National. Fucking. Story.

How many did we actually lose yesterday during the ongoing Age of Plenty?  Oh, I know, the AP just isn't interested in that sort of negative news.

It upsets the unicorns.

I'm so glad to know that my federal income taxes are being used to pay for local police officers some 750 fucking miles, and at least 2-states, away.
