Irony so delicious you can taste it.

The word you're looking for is, projection.

So just to sum up, Obama enlists the aid of a small group of liberal bloggers in the health care fight, and then those same bloggers write posts echoing White House and DNC talking points -- and in the very process of doing that, accuse their political opponents of astroturfing!

It would be hilarious if we weren't talking about the Cubanization of our health care system.

The file labeled "I guess dissent is no longer patriotic" is getting kinda full

Brilliant strategy, this.

I guess the days of “I need you to go out and talk to your friends and talk to your neighbors. I want you to talk to them whether they are independent or whether they are Republican. I want you to argue with them and get in their face,” are officially over now that The Won as won.

Hypocrisy - thy name is Democrat.

But I'm sure they'll make it up in volume.

Sure they will.

The recession is starving the government of tax revenue, just as the president and Congress are piling a major expansion of health care and other programs on the nation's plate and struggling to find money to pay the tab.

The numbers could hardly be more stark: Tax receipts are on pace to drop 18 percent this year, the biggest single-year decline since the Great Depression, while the federal deficit balloons to a record $1.8 trillion.

Anyone think the deficit will be only $1.8T?  And do you really think the ChiComs will continue our credit-binge if the deficit breaks, say, the $2T mark?

Because I sure as shit don't.

Like most couples that end in divorce...

... there comes a time when you start to think that differences actually are irreconcilable - not just that you think they are, that they actually are.

I mean, I really don't know how many more times I can handle the ministers of the church of "Dissent is the Highest Form of Patriotism" calling me a traitor or a terrorist before I start to believe, seriously, that secession is the only answer.

Republic of Texas, anyone?

Tough day for the Hate America gang

Just a pair of headlines for this Monday morning...

Conservatives score wins in EU parliament voting

Lebanon's pro-Western majority declares victory

Certainly there's at least one former President crying in his oatmeal over the last one.  Warms my heart, that.

Comedy Freaking Gold!

Ladies and Gentlemen, on behalf of the travel and mass transit industries of the country, the Vice President of the United States of America...

Vice president Joe Biden said today he would tell his family members not to use subways in the U.S. and implied schools should be shuttered as the swine flu outbreak spread to 11 states and forced school closures amid confirmation of the first U.S. death.

"I wouldn't go anywhere in confined places now," Biden said when asked whether he would advise family members to use public transportation.

Biden made his comments during a brief interview on NBC's "Today" show during an interview with Matt Lauer.

"I would tell members of my family, and I have, I wouldn't go anywhere in confined places now. It's not that it's going to Mexico, it's you're in a confined aircraft when one person sneezes it goes all the way through the aircraft. That's me. I would not be, at this point, if they had another way of transportation suggesting they ride the subway. "

Ain't he great?  Slo' Joe Biden, folks.  Give it up for him!

Man, we sure dodged a bullet with that Palin chick.

Just to make it clear...

You want to know why I think the Democrat Party is the party of the intentionally stupid?

Well here's just one example - the same people who seem to think that waterboarding jihadis in effort to extract information that could save the lives of Americans is a Crime Against HumanityTM are also willing to fight hammer-and-tongs to preserve the practice of infanticide (in the guize of Partial Birth Abortion).

So they're not willing to make a couple of Islamoterrorists uncomfortable for a few minutes but they are willing the suck the brain out of a living baby in order to not invonvenience his mother.

To square that circle you have to be either 1) intentionally stupid, or 2) a monster.

I'm being charitible by assuming the former.

Yeah, it's great to have "the adults" back in charge.

Selective OutrageTM strikes again.

The Obama administration is engineering its new bailout initiatives in a way that it believes will allow firms benefiting from the programs to avoid restrictions imposed by Congress, including limits on lavish executive pay, according to government officials.

Administration officials have concluded that this approach is vital for persuading firms to participate in programs funded by the $700 billion financial rescue package.

In other words, now that Zero needs the Fat Cats' money to make the "toxic asset bailout" plan work, he's going to try to punch holes in the very laws he demanded in the first place when he was "shaking with outrage" once the "outrageous" bonuses at AIG were "disclosed".

Awesome.

Just don't you dare question their patriotism.

Democrats - supporting the troops, in their usual way... by screwing them out of their ability to exercise their voting franchise.

The Civil Rights Division of the Department of Justice, which is responsible for enforcing the federal statute that guarantees the right of overseas citizens and military personnel to vote by absentee ballot, contacted the New York State Board of Elections and requested that they issue their ballots sooner for this race. The two Republican members of the board voted to support this request. Yet the two Democratic members of the board, shamefully enough, voted against doing so.

It's abso-fucking-lutely maddening.

Hello?  Is there anyone breathing at RNC headquarters these days?

H/T: Uncle Jimbo @ AoSHQ.

Shocker! Democrats like like rugs about tax cuts.

Behold!

Or maybe you prefer this take?

You're shocked, I know.

Amazing though, the number of people who fall for this every so often.  Like they say - ignorance is curable but stupid is forever.

OK, so the delay is over.

But really, isn't this the same crap Henry Paulson was trying to sell us (and was resoundingly rejected) 6-months ago?

So in other words, the super-smartest guy in the world needed 3-months to re-package what was rejected by his "hair on fire" predecessor - is that about right?

And as an aside - if this is the solution to a fantastically mis-diagnosed problem, then how in Heaven's name can it possibly "work" in the sense of actually getting the economy moving again?

Update: It would appear that Turbo Tax may have been cribbing from Greg Mankiw as well.

I'm starting to think this IS the plan.

Delays, delays, nothing but delays.

You know, it's almost as if these guys have absolutely no idea what the fuck they're doing.

Oh, and in case you were wondering...

Gee, it's a good thing "the adults" are back in charge. Eh?

Yep, good thing that Culture of CorruptionTM is a thing of the past.

Uh, what was that?

Kansas lawmakers want to know whether a Johnson County nonprofit used its political connections to Gov. Kathleen Sebelius to get a special funding increase last fall.

Holy. Shit.

It does beg the question though - is there anyone, fucking anyone, left in the Democrat Party who doesn't have ethical/legal/tax troubles?

With all the so-called "creative geniuses" in the Democrat Party...

... one would be forgiven for thinking they could come-up with a campaign a whole lot less lame than this...
Rush

Wow - did it take them a whole, what? hour to think that up?

It does raise a somewhat important point through - is this, or is this not, the thinnest-skinned Administration in the history of history?

So much for St. Barack "Mr. Post-Partisan" Obama, eh?

"Never waste a good crisis"

Time to play everyone's favorite game - try to think of what would be the media reaction if a Republican said...

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton told an audience Friday "never waste a good crisis," and highlighted the opportunity of rebuilding economies in a greener, less energy-intensive way.

If fact, isn't this precisely the sort of language the paranoid left-moronosphere explicitly believed was being used on a daily basis by Chimpy and Darth Cheney?  And, what, no outrage over this from The Shrew?

Color me spectacularly unsurprised.

Oh yeah, this is a guaranteed winner.

What could possibly go wrong?

The Obama administration on Thursday marked a clear break with George W. Bush’s policy of isolating Iran by declaring its intention to invite the Islamic republic to an international conference on stabilising Afghanistan.

Hillary Clinton, secretary of state, announced in Brussels that Tehran was likely to be invited to a meeting that would bring together all “interested parties” on Afghanistan. Administration officials later confirmed Iran would be on the guest list.

Why don't we just invite the Taliban directly and cut-out the middle jihadists?

But remember all, it's Republicans who are "anti-science"

Good fucking Googa-Mooga on Toast.

OK, so let's see - Oil people are evil, nuclear is off the table, coal is "dirty", unicorn farts ain't gonna get it done, and we've been after magic windmills and sun-power plants for pretty much my entire fucking life and we're nowhere near a solution there, either.

So I suppose "Change" means boosting the price of the single most important commodity on the planet (Energy, yes - try growing large piles of food without it, sweetheart) in the midst of a global economic collapse.  All because of some fairy-tales about icky nuclear power.

Man, we really dodged a bullet with that Palin chick, didn't we?
