The question that is begged.

I have no love lost for former GM CEO Rick Wagoner, but given the Epic Fail! job Team Zero has done putting their own staff together do you really think it's a good idea letting these people decide who should be running General Motors?

Just asking.

Another unpublished feature of Obamnomics.

All those "Green Jobs" El Presidente is talking about?  Turns out they are great stimulators of unemployment.

If Spain's experience is any guide, there are serious job losses from green stimulus measures like the ones contemplated in Obama's plans. According to a study from King Juan Carlos University in Madrid, For every new job sustained by subsidized renewable energy at least 2.2 are lost in other industries.

Awesome.

Good thing there's noting important for the President to do.

True to form, the President is acting like it's his first real job.

Holy Fucking Shit - when, oh when are the grown-ups going to be back?

About those "Inherited Deficits"

Uh, yeah.  Right.
ZeroBS

So, how's all that "Change" we voted for - in 2006 - working out for us?

Well, it's working so well in Ugo's Paradise.

And, of course, everything here in Obamerica is going according to plan...

So why not give Turbo Tax Timmy the power to seize non-banking financial institutions as well as banks?

The Obama administration is considering asking Congress to give the Treasury secretary unprecedented powers to initiate the seizure of non-bank financial companies, such as large insurers, investment firms and hedge funds, whose collapse would damage the broader economy, according to an administration document. ...

Giving the Treasury secretary authority over a broader range of companies would mark a significant shift from the existing model of financial regulation, which relies on independent agencies that are shielded from the political process.

What could possibly go wrong?

And speaking of Greg Mankiw...

The Professor today is kind enough to provide a very brief overview into just how wildly, ludicrously, idiotically optimistic are Zero's assumptions of future economic growth.

H/T: AoSHQ, who suggested Zero's assumptions were "bordering on delusional".  I respectfully disagree - Zero and Comrades know precisely that they are full of shit, but expect Oprah Nation to go along with the smoke and mirrors long enough to implement the bulk (if not the entirety) of their Free Lunch Someone Else Pays ForTM agenda.

Well, this is shocking.

Uh, not at all, actually.

President Barack Obama's budget would generate deficits averaging almost $1 trillion a year over the next decade, according to the latest congressional estimates, significantly worse than predicted by the White House just last month.

Translation - The Unicorn King was lying his fucking ass off in putting forward his budget, evidently written by that noted faux economist Rosy Scenario.

The awesomeness never ends.

Expect this news to get shoved down a memory hole as fast as the MSM can recycle an AIG OUTRAGETM story.

You know, maybe we won't charge vets for their care after all.

The Obama Administration - scary smart.

Well, good - glad they got this one right.  I mean, this was a dopey-to-the-n-power idea that never had a chance of seeing the light of day, much less becoming law - but still, glad to see the expiration date on this one come sooner rather than later.

So, another unforced error by the messiah.  Pretty soon people are going to start questioning his competence.

You know, Rummy killed weapons programs too.

What could possibly go wrong?

Gates readies big cuts in weapons

Now, as the only Bush Cabinet member to remain under President Obama, (SecDef Robert) Gates is preparing the most far-reaching changes in the Pentagon's weapons portfolio since the end of the Cold War, according to aides.

Sure, because killing programs that employ actual Americans and provides our soldiers, sailors and airmen with the best equipment possible in a time of global instibility and economic collapse is a brilliant fucking idea.

I'm sure someone believes this horseshit.

No really, the Obama Administration isn't really, seriously, ginormously increasing the size and scope of Government.  After all, Tim "Tax Cheat" Geithner said so.

Now, again, if you take out interest costs, and you take out the modest increase forced by aging of the baby boom, this is a change in priorities for the country, but it's not a significant growth in the overall size of the government to GDP.

So I suppose this means that so long as you ignore all the spending then there's not really all that much spending going on.

Seriously, this was the only guy for the job?  My 13-year old daughter pulls this sort of BS on me - I expect better from the guy I was told was the super-smartest mega-genius in the history of History.

Hey, this sounds like a swell idea.

I know, let's balance the budget on the backs of wounded vets.

The leader of the nation's largest veterans organization says he is "deeply disappointed and concerned" after a meeting with President Obama today to discuss a proposal to force private insurance companies to pay for the treatment of military veterans who have suffered service-connected disabilities and injuries. ...

"It became apparent during our discussion today that the President intends to move forward with this unreasonable plan," said Commander David K. Rehbein of The American Legion.

Gee, a liberal Democrat sticking it to the military.  Color me shocked.

Phew! We really dodged a bullet with that Palin chick.

Joe Biden - the gift that keeps on giving.

5 percent of the Taliban is incorrigible, not susceptible to anything other than being defeated.  Another 25 percent or so are not quite sure, in my view, the intensity of their commitment to the insurgency.  And roughly 70 percent are involved because of the money, because of them being -- getting paid.

"In my view"?  You mean, not in the view of all this "Tough. Smart." intel your Administration promised us?

So, you're just kinda sorta making it up as you go.  Right?

A wonderful round-up/smack-down of these latest musings from the Real Man of Genius can be found at Gateway Pundit.

Poor baby.

Aww - poor Zero was too fucking tired to show proper respect to the elected leader of our oldest and most reliable ally.

Sources close to the White House say Mr Obama and his staff have been "overwhelmed" by the economic meltdown and have voiced concerns that the new president is not getting enough rest.

Not only are we obviously a Nation of Crybaby Pussies but we evidently now have a President who personifies it.  Awesome.

Worst. Administration. Ever.

The level of Craptacular in Porkulus simply knows no bounds.

Who didn't see this coming?

Tens of thousands of jobs created by the economic stimulus law could end up filled by illegal immigrants, particularly in big states such as California where undocumented workers are heavily represented in construction, experts on both sides of the issue say.

So, who's up for your kids' future earnings being used to provide "stimulus" money - after the recession is projected to be, ahem, over - for people who have no legal business being in the US?  Anyone?

More from, and a H/T to, DrewM.

I cannot believe this isn't getting more play.

This is a honking big Rubicon that Obamanomics is demanding we cross...

New and expanded refundable tax credits would raise the fraction of taxpayers paying no income taxes to almost 50% from 38%. This is potentially the most pernicious feature of the president's budget, because it would cement a permanent voting majority with no stake in controlling the cost of general government.

Catch that?

Congratulations, Obamerica - go ahead and try to vote yourselves rich.

I'll be going Galt.

As they say, read the whole thing.

Sure, it's a great time to tax the daylights out of producers.

Hope and Change.

The nation's unemployment rate bolted to 8.1 percent in February, the highest since late 1983, as cost-cutting employers slashed 651,000 jobs.

Yep, an abso-freakling-lutely perfect time to "soak the rich" - just when you're counting on self-same rich to, you know, invest the money to put people back to work.

Nah - it's just so much easier to just borrow from our kids to do that.  Isn't it.

Shocking that Wall Street is giving this savant a vote of "No Confidence", no?

Is it "Oops"? Or "It's all going according to plan"?

I tend to avoid alleging malice when simple idiocy will do - but I do find that I'm starting to fall into the category of "People Who Think Barack Obama Is Doing It On Purpose"
