Sure, it's a great time to tax the daylights out of producers.

Hope and Change.

The nation's unemployment rate bolted to 8.1 percent in February, the highest since late 1983, as cost-cutting employers slashed 651,000 jobs.

Yep, an abso-freakling-lutely perfect time to "soak the rich" - just when you're counting on self-same rich to, you know, invest the money to put people back to work.

Nah - it's just so much easier to just borrow from our kids to do that.  Isn't it.

Shocking that Wall Street is giving this savant a vote of "No Confidence", no?

Oh yeah, this is a guaranteed winner.

What could possibly go wrong?

The Obama administration on Thursday marked a clear break with George W. Bush’s policy of isolating Iran by declaring its intention to invite the Islamic republic to an international conference on stabilising Afghanistan.

Hillary Clinton, secretary of state, announced in Brussels that Tehran was likely to be invited to a meeting that would bring together all “interested parties” on Afghanistan. Administration officials later confirmed Iran would be on the guest list.

Why don't we just invite the Taliban directly and cut-out the middle jihadists?

You know, it's almost like they're rooting for this guy.

Behold - the objective, unbiased AP, the ultimate in "accountability journalism" during the evil BushCo era, playing Head Cheerleader to President Zero's Captain of the Football Team.

President Barack Obama, who often says his $787 billion economic stimulus package will save or create millions of jobs, can point to at least 25 jobs saved in Ohio's capital.

Wow - 25 jobs "saved" and it's a National. Fucking. Story.

How many did we actually lose yesterday during the ongoing Age of Plenty?  Oh, I know, the AP just isn't interested in that sort of negative news.

It upsets the unicorns.

I'm so glad to know that my federal income taxes are being used to pay for local police officers some 750 fucking miles, and at least 2-states, away.

How do you know you're in Massachusetts?

Well, for starters, an outfit that calls itself the Massachusetts Taxpayers Foundation - which is actually a huge business lobby in the Commonwealth - advocates for a gas tax increase that is actually 30% higher than the libtarded, light-working, Barack Mini-Me Governor.

Oh, and you'll notice from the linked article that other business groups - including the Chamber of Freaking Commerce - support this tax increase.

Welcome to Massachusetts - now bend over.

You learn something new every day.

For example, I learned today that there are actually people in Gotham who evidently feel that taxes aren't high enough.

Organizers estimate that 50,000 people have lined Broadway with a message to Gov. David Paterson that cuts are not the answer to fixing New York's budget problems.

The protesters are made up of a widespread coalition of labor unions, community groups, and even families uniting to have their voices heard.

So I'm guessing, what 15, maybe 20 people actually missed work to attend this rent-a-mob?

But remember all, it's Republicans who are "anti-science"

Good fucking Googa-Mooga on Toast.

OK, so let's see - Oil people are evil, nuclear is off the table, coal is "dirty", unicorn farts ain't gonna get it done, and we've been after magic windmills and sun-power plants for pretty much my entire fucking life and we're nowhere near a solution there, either.

So I suppose "Change" means boosting the price of the single most important commodity on the planet (Energy, yes - try growing large piles of food without it, sweetheart) in the midst of a global economic collapse.  All because of some fairy-tales about icky nuclear power.

Man, we really dodged a bullet with that Palin chick, didn't we?

Well, we all wanted to go back to the Clinton years - right?

Welcome to 1996, folks.

U.S. and European stocks tumbled, driving the Standard & Poor’s 500 Index to the lowest level since 1996...

Looks like the markets closed with the DOW below 6600 and the NASDAQ just a whisker above or below 1300.

Now if we take a trip in the way-back machine, all the way back to September 2006 - you know, right about the first time the Democrats and the media (but I repeat myself) convinced a majority of the electorate of the need for "Change" - those indexes stood at 10679 and 2219, respectively.

So, how you liking this double-shot of "Change"?

The Age of Plenty, continued.

Awesome.

The Dow Jones industrial average dropped another 200 points today on fresh concerns about banks and about General Motors. In midday trading, the Dow is down 219.11, or 3.19 percent, to 6,656.73, a low not seen since April 1997

Oh, and GM is going to be trading in "penny stock" range soon.  Yep, that was $13,000,000,000 well spent, eh?

Cries of "It's All Bush's Fault!!!" will begin in 5... 4... 3...

Is it "Oops"? Or "It's all going according to plan"?

I tend to avoid alleging malice when simple idiocy will do - but I do find that I'm starting to fall into the category of "People Who Think Barack Obama Is Doing It On Purpose"
