"Never waste a good crisis"

Time to play everyone's favorite game - try to think of what would be the media reaction if a Republican said...

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton told an audience Friday "never waste a good crisis," and highlighted the opportunity of rebuilding economies in a greener, less energy-intensive way.

If fact, isn't this precisely the sort of language the paranoid left-moronosphere explicitly believed was being used on a daily basis by Chimpy and Darth Cheney?  And, what, no outrage over this from The Shrew?

Color me spectacularly unsurprised.

OK - so never waste a good crisis.

Are we to infer therefore that this is a good crisis we're now in?  And if so, what, God forbid!, would a bad crisis look like?
Clinton told young Europeans at the European Parliament that global economic turmoil provided a fresh opening. "Never waste a good crisis ... Don't waste it when it can have a very positive impact on climate change and energy security," she said.

Uh, Mrs. Smartest-Woman-on-the-Planet?  Pretty soon we're going to be burning $20-bills to keep warm because they'll be worth more as fuel than as money.  I'm pretty sure that will not be carbon-neutral.

Oh, and so long as nobody is buying anything, nobody needs to make anything, and BINGO! - no longer a need to worry about the pollution generated by all that icky manufacturing.  That's all pretty carbon-neutral, methinks.

So unless that's your and your boss' grand plan for our future - basically bringing us back to the 12th century - you might want to consider drinking a deep draft from a mug of Shut The Fuck Up about this whole "climate change" swindle.
Europe sees the United States as a crucial ally in global climate talks in Copenhagen in December, after President Barack Obama signaled a new urgency in tackling climate change, in stark contrast to his predecessor George W. Bush.

Yeah, that evil Chimpy - his urgency centered around killing jihadists and keeping people more-or-less employed.  Glad to see we have more sophisticated priorities now that we're all going to the poor house.
"This is a propitious time ... we can actually begin to demonstrate our willingness to confront this."

And once again - please do your best to imagine the widespread rending of garments that would have accompanied a similar declaration from a Republican cabinet official while the economy is receding to 1983 levels.

I bet you can.
"There is no doubt in my mind the energy security and climate change crises, which I view as being together, not separate, must be dealt with," Clinton added.

So we're not going to drill, nukes are already off the table, coal is too icky - that's it!  UNICORNS!!  All hail the Unicorn Prince and his fat-assed State jester, Hillary the Shrill!

I wonder if Unicorn Farts are carbon-neutral?
